Blauzac is Back!

We are pleased to announce some very big news: we are once again going to schedule a jazz festival for the beginning of July! An open-air festival shared by 2 villages: Blauzac and St Maximin: Friday July the 4th will take place in St Maximin and Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th in Blauzac: so it is time to mark the first weekend of July 2025 in your diaries!

You can imagine that we missed the festival, that we missed you, and we missed the music under the stars. And judging by your many messages we understand you also missed the festival. The decision was ultimately obvious!!

As you probably know, we suspended the festival because we were exhausted, and our president Robert Frati had health problems. In 2024 Jazz à Blauzac tested a partnership with the association Jour De Fête (based in St Maximin) to help them put on their first jazz concert on their very pretty Place de l'Église. This first adventure was a success for both parties and it made us think... Now that we are less tired, that Robert's health is more stable... we said to ourselves: why not?

We will make changes to the format you know, and we will try to just focus on the essential: Jazz. On Friday evening it will take place in St Maximin with the association “Jour de Fête”, Place de l’Eglise – as it should be!  On Saturday and Sunday evening it will be Blauzac's turn with, as a bonus, the’ jazz apéro concerts in front of the village cafés at midday.

To avoid burdening the “mechanics” we will not have members or complicated prices: a single price for all tickets. Simplification is required. We will offer 2 exceptional concerts every evening with extraordinary artists, sometimes coming from far to enrich us with their talent! Please note that we will unfortunately have to review our prices because, in case you haven't noticed, inflation has happened and transport prices have exploded, plus those of various other services too... At €20 an evening however, you will be able to listen to great music: to be consumed without moderation!!

Note that there are now only 6 of us on the committee: it will therefore become essential to recruit volunteers to help us. As far as Blauzac is concerned, we will be looking for: drivers, overnight hosts, ushers, bartenders/barwomen, cooks (re-heating) strong hands to set up and dismantle the equipment on the Place and staff for the concerts. A vast program!

We have already worked a lot on the festival programme, and we can already say with confidence you are going to enjoy yourself on July 4th, 5th and 6th 2025. Extraordinary artists are seriously considering visiting us: ‘Blauzac is back!’ Long live the jazz!
