1st part - CBS
East Coast American club jazz from the 50's and 60's
CBS is three musicians united around a project created in 2022: trying to rediscover the sound that reigned in the jazz clubs on the American East Coast during the 50s and 60s. This period and a musical movement, "hard bop", profoundly marked the history of jazz with its blues-tinged color, and it is from this vast repertoire of "standards" that the CBS setlist is made up, with some arrangements and compositions that expand their repertoire. The members of CBS have evolved in different musical projects on the Lyon scene.
For this evening CBS welcomes saxophonist Alexis Requet.
Lucas Mendez - guitar

David Hermlin is a fantastic drummer (like Jo Jones), singer and showman (like Cab Calloway), tap dancer (like Nicholas Brothers), with a boundless on-stage energy and absolute class. He takes us back to the Roaring Twenties with his excellent trio (vocals & drums, piano, clarinet) with a concert full of surprises that keeps us on the edge of our seats from start to finish and an acoustic sound from back then. A gem straight from Berlin, not to be missed!
Born in Berlin in 2000, David Hermlin performed in public for the first time at the age of 4, with his father's band. During a trip to New York at the age of 5, David discovered his love for tap dancing. From 2010 to 2019 he was a member of the "Junges Ensemble" at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin, the largest and most modern theatre in Europe, and repeatedly held leading roles. In 2018 David Hermlin founded the "David Hermlin Trio.
